FRM Footwell & EMF Handbrake
FRM3 Footwell Module repair and EMF handbrake repair — including X5 handbrake modules — are among our highest-volume services. Fast turnaround and guaranteed refurbishment, tested in our lab before release.
ECU repair & replacement
Correct VIN, correct mileage, correct software version. We do not advocate locksets — your customer’s car leaves with the right module, not a workaround.
EGS Mechatronics alignment
F-series ZF 8HP gearbox control units carry immobiliser protection and require bench alignment when replaced. Send the Mechatronics unit with the FEM and key — we align on the bench and return it ready to fit. No need to send the whole car.
Module coding & adaptation
All modules are re-coded to the vehicle using factory BMW tools. Correct operation, no random dash faults, full service indicator functionality.
Advanced diagnostics
Factory BMW diagnostic equipment — not generic third-party tools. Full fault granularity to correctly identify root cause before repair or replacement.
Refurbished module supply
Fast-moving modules held in stock as tested refurbished units. Immediate availability for common configurations — minimising vehicle downtime.

About OBDWorx

OBDWorx is a specialist BMW and Mini electronic module repair facility based in Benoni, Gauteng. We focus exclusively on BMW and Mini electronics — component-level ECU repair, FRM3 Footwell Module repair, EMF handbrake repair, F-series gearbox alignment, refurbishment, and coding — using the same factory tools BMW Group uses. We support BMW E- and F-series, and Mini R- and F-series platforms.

We prefer to repair before replacing. It keeps costs lower for your customer, and avoids the complications that come with incorrectly coded or mismatched modules. When replacement is necessary, we source and code correctly — right VIN, right mileage, right software.

Based in Benoni, Gauteng, we serve workshops and trade partners across South Africa. Our lab is continuously updated to keep pace with the expanding range of BMW electronic systems we support.
